- Tri-C Digital Student Showcase 2026
Step into the vibrant, evolving worlds of our middle school student photographers. This virtual exhibition celebrates the technical growth, artistic experimentation, and visual storytelling of talented students we had the pleasure of working in collaboration with our partners at the Cuyahoga Community College's Creative Arts Academy. From discovering new levels of freedom through manual camera settings to mastering the stark limitations of winter light, exploring the emotional power of color, and weaving narratives in post-production, these galleries represent students' journeys of learning throughout the 2025-26 school year.
We want to express our gratitude to all who made this work possible, from our teaching artists Lexi Deet, Lawrence Hudson, Aja Grant, Diana Hlywiak, and Wendell Julian, to our diligent and trusted colleagues at Tri-C, Carol Lee Iott & Emanuela Friscioni. We are also grateful to the parents and guardians who brought our students to and from class every Saturday morning and for the students for showing up and sharpening ways of seeing and being the world.
Please explore the featured collections below!
Camera Confidence (Fall 2025)
Every photographic journey begins with a single frame. This collection showcases our students' first steps into mastering the craft. From unlocking the mysteries of the DSLR camera and conquering the exposure triangle to experimenting with foundational composition, these images capture the spark of creative independence.
Editing & Digital Storytelling (Winter 2025)
Discover the magic that happens after the shutter clicks. This gallery highlights the art of post-production and sequencing. Through exposure adjustments, color balancing, and thoughtful image arrangement, students began composing narrative vignettes across a series of images.
Monochrome Worlds (Winter 2025/Spring 2026)
Experience the power of creative constraint. By stripping away color, these photographers focused on the raw elements of storytelling—composition, histograms, and light. Students navigated winter's restrictions to refine their core skills in anticipation for RGB Poets, this course's complimentary expereince that re-introduces color into their explorations.
RGB Poets (Spring 2026)
As the seasons shift, so does the palette. This collection explores the science and emotion of color. These "RGB Poets" use color strategically to communicate mood, intent, and narrative, bridging the gap between historical color traditions and modern digital editing.
