Lexi Deet
Lexi is a dedicated and passionate photographer with 15 years experience and a background in photojournalism. This foundation has prepared her to work in any situation or style, although her preferred documentary style captures the world as it is - often beautiful and a little messy. She is always seeking out stories to tell, and creative new ways to tell them.
She speaks Spanish and has photographed in 4 countries outside of the USA. Since returning to her hometown of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, she has contracted with several local non-profit companies to teach photography in underserved communities. She also works with adults with disabilities and seniors.
Photography, for her, is all about preserving memories and telling stories. She loves using her abilities to do this for others, and sharing her love of the medium in meaningful ways. She has a sense of humor that can often carry over into her work. In addition to posed and traditional photos, she will take candid shots when it’s least expected - she is often told these are her client’s favorite ones!
When she’s not shooting away with her camera, she loves to be outside, hiking, camping and climbing. She also spends time bringing the outside in with her plant obsession. She has been doing her best to avoid single-use plastics in recent years and trying a lower waste lifestyle. She loves to cook food fresh from the farmer’s market. More than any of that, though, she loves animals. Befriending a new dog can be the best moment of the day. She’s open to trying any project, because she loves learning new things and putting her all into everything she does.
